Lily's Babies 2001

IMy turn to be Lily's "Nurse" was with here the whole time as she went through Labor & Delivery. At one time I thought she was going to have them in my lap but finally got her to settle down in the hall closet as long as I was settingon the floor next to her. Then 4 little Angel's arrovived and Lily was the model Mommie. I really didn't want Lily to go thru having pups but while visiting a friend Lily partook of some some "Risky Business" - during what I thought was a safe time. Apparently, my count was a few toes short. wasn't long and there came 4 tiny babies. l wanted to keep them all but finally slapped myself silly back to reality. I did settle on keeping my favorite little black and brown who was registared with the AKC as 'Daddy's Little Girl" I called her Little Girl but mostly Girlie. She was Lily & My baby!

Lily's Life with Linda
.jpg)
In 1999, livinig in San Antonio, Texas I decided to look for a friend for life. I have had a Dacshund addiction for the breed since childhood, when my first pet was a Black/Brown Mini-Dacshund (Spud). I first saw Lily when she was just 3 weeks old, very tiny and the breeder said she was a "Teacup" but her ignorance proved out she was setting me up. I drifted from " I WANT a dog!" to "
"Do I REALLY want a dog?" About 5 months later I finally decided " YES I REALLY WANT THE DOG!!!. Knowing this breeded had Doxie's I called her and found she still had the "Teacup" so I headed to Seguin pretty quick. She brought 6 month old Lily out and she was thin, head down and I sat down on the couch and she planted herself next to me with snout on my leg and both eyes looking up to me with a clear "Please rescue Me Help Me! When my eyes met her, I grabbed her up and said how much She's mine. I went straight to the Vet who found her full of ant bites, mal-nourished from neglect ,abused and a major over-bite from in-breeding. The overbite was from her lower jaw being much shorter than the top which caused her tongue to be too long and was always sticking out. The Vet told me "You won't be able to show her but she'll make you a great companion" I replied "OH, she'll be a Princess the rest of her life with me!!" And so it was...my Princess Tiger Lily (she was a red Brindle and had the stripes so I considered her my Princess until the moment she crossed the Rainbow March 20, 2017. Lilybelle and I had almost 18 years if love and suppor for each other. Miss and talk to her her EVERYDAY!
